Taiwanese like their way of living compared to the Chinese one, but it may not be enough to prevent the new generation of talents to expatriate in the direction of continental hubs.
It has already demonstrated some strengths ​like High-tech manufacturing and a natural openness toward international trading. Yet, its challenge now is to upgrade its startup ecosystem and bring its industry higher in the value chain to stay in the race.

Startup Stadium
Taiwan Startup Stadium (TSS) is more than just a startup accelerator. Through their Rock the Mic pitch competitions, they will send the top pitchs directly to the most important Tech conferences in the world, like RISE (Hong Kong).
Moreover, as part of the government “HeadStart Taiwan” Project aiming to facilitate the development of an effective startup ecosystem in Taiwan, the different programs are FREE to the qualifying startups.

Run by the very well-known SOSV international organisation, the Mobile Only Accelerator is probably one of the biggest of its kind in the world.

Remarkably, the place hold a weekly event on Friday called Happy hour. HH will feature talks, international guests (I had Geoffrey Handley about building a people strategy) and plenty of free drinks and BBQ !
